In most cases, vintagetools buys used analog gear in order to sell it to our end customers after a test or refurbishment and sometimes after installation in one of our racks. For the most part, that makes sense, because our customers benefit from our technical service and the associated warranty. However, there are some special products such as multi-track machines that are difficult to move or even large-format mixing consoles that would become much too expensive if they were to be transported to us and serviced. In addition, we sometimes get offered interesting items that are too expensive to buy for us.  As a professional business we need to make a margin on the gear after investing money and time for service in order to be able to take the risk of a warranty, etc. This it were it might make sense to work as a brokerer.

Are you searchnig for a rare device?

If you are looking for a special device that you cannot find on our website, please send us an e-mail with your inquiry. We can not offer these devices at a bargain price, but often at the usual going rate. If they were cheap, we would have bought them directly. If you are looking for a Neumann U47 with an original VF14M tube or something similar, you will certainly not think that you can get it for a low price from a dealer. If you are seriously looking and willing to pay the market price, we are able to find the gear you are searching.. The price depends on whether we only broaker or also include service and waranty. This approach is also useful  if you want to buy a fully equipped VT7x or VT19-1U rack, but we cannot offer any of the modules in our shop at this moment. Do you want to sell a rare, a very expensive or a very large device?

Experience has shown that special products such as heavy multi-track machines or large-format mixing consoles are better sold directly from the location. Of course, we also buy these devices and and pick them up from your studio, but the extra costs are often so high that you hardly have anything left when we add our margin. In these cases we offer brokerage through us. The margin is based on the work we have invested and the risk (warranty). On the other hand, such a device can hardly be sold for a good price without warranty or at least a pro dealer involved who has checked the item for the buyer. Each case must be treated individually here. We have worldwide contacts to potential buyers and we can obtain very good prices for you if you have rare and sought after gear for sale.
